When I left the banks in 2012 and founded the Academy of Life Planning, I thought I was simply stepping away from an industry that had lost its soul. What I didn’t realise then was that I was walking straight into the lives of those it had left behind.
Everywhere I turned, I met people whose trust had been shattered — by pension mis-selling, hidden fees, or financial “advice” that served profits over people. It seemed that everyone I met had been a victim of financial exploitation.
They weren’t just poorer — they were broken. Not only financially, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
So I started where I could: helping them plan better futures.
One life plan at a time.
One complaint letter at a time.
And it worked.
People found their voices. They got redress. They began to hope again.
✨ From Planning Lives to Changing Systems
Over time, this personal mission evolved into something far bigger.
In 2019, I published my book “Your Money or Your Life: Unmask the Highway Robbers – Enjoy Wealth in Every Area of Your Life.”
That book introduced the GAME Plan — a framework that helps people align their goals, actions, means, and execution to create balance and purpose in life. It was the beginning of a movement toward ethical, values-based financial planning.
I began speaking to audiences in the UK, Malta, and the Caribbean — teaching individuals how to take back control, and showing planners how to serve clients with honesty and transparency.
Today, the Academy of Life Planning has grown to over 750 planners across six continents, all dedicated to helping people achieve financial freedom with integrity.
For more than a decade, I’ve also served as an Ambassador for the Transparency Task Force, working to restore trust and confidence in a financial system that, for too long, has proven structurally untrustworthy.
⚖️ The Next Chapter: Justice and Recovery for All
But despite the progress, one truth has remained constant:
the system continues to harm people — and too many victims are left to suffer in silence.
Over the years, I’ve spoken to countless individuals who lost their pensions, savings, and homes through corporate negligence or regulatory failure. Some are still fighting after ten years. Some have given up. And some — heartbreakingly — have died waiting for justice.
That’s what compelled me to start Get SAFE (Support After Financial Exploitation).
Because I no longer want to just help people plan their lives after harm.
I want to prevent the harm from killing them.
This is no longer about finance. It’s about survival.
It’s about saving lives, restoring dignity, and rebuilding trust — one person, one case, one truth at a time.
🕊️ What Get SAFE Does
Get SAFE is the UK’s first citizen-led recovery and justice network for victims of corporate financial exploitation.
It brings together survivors, campaigners, and citizen investigators through five core programmes:
- Rebuild & Thrive: Helping victims out of depression through purpose-driven life planning and emotional resilience training.
- Justice & Recovery (The Goliathon): AI-powered investigation and advocacy tools that transform confusion into clarity and empower people to pursue redress.
- The Witnessing Service: Preserving the stories of those ignored by the system, ensuring they are never erased from history.
- The Fellowship: A community of truth-tellers and survivor-helpers supporting one another through healing and empowerment.
- Citizen Investigator’s Playbook: A digital toolkit that helps people document, organise, and communicate their cases professionally.
Every £50 donation funds a bursary for one survivor — giving them access to training, community, and emotional support that could save their life.
