Financial Crime: A Crisis of Trust and Survival
For too long, financial crime has been framed as an economic issue. But as the Faces of Financial Crime report makes clear, the reality is far more devastating. Victims don’t just lose money—they lose their peace of mind, their sense of security, and in some cases, even their lives. This isn’t just about numbers on a balance sheet. It’s about real people whose dreams have been shattered by a system that has failed to protect them.
Many are left isolated, battling stigma and despair. They are told to “move on,” yet no clear pathway exists to do so. That’s where the GAME Plan comes in. Designed to help people take back control, the GAME Plan doesn’t just focus on recovery—it empowers individuals to build a future of autonomy, purpose, and financial resilience.
Step 1: Goals – Redefining the Future with Purpose
The first and most important step in the GAME Plan is identifying an inspiring future—one that lights the fire within. For victims of financial crime, the biggest challenge isn’t just regaining lost assets; it’s regaining belief in themselves and their future. That’s why we don’t just set financial targets—we focus on self-knowing and purpose.
- Talents Assessment: Instead of seeing financial adversity as pure loss, we help victims uncover hidden talents that can be transformed into meaningful work.
- Reframing the Experience: Your story—however painful—can become a powerful asset. Many victims become advocates, educators, or entrepreneurs who help others avoid the same pitfalls.
- Near-Horizon Visioning: Most financial plans focus on a far-off retirement. We focus on three-year, near-horizon goals that provide immediate motivation and tangible progress.
- It’s never too late to reset: We help individuals in their later years repair their finances, create sustainable livelihoods to replenish financial assets, designing work that doesn’t feel like work, work from which you may never want to retire. Our members are economically active in their 60s, 70s and even 80s. Many didn’t even know this was possible!
Step 2: Actions – From Survival Mode to a Practical Plan
When you’ve been financially devastated, making a plan can feel overwhelming. But small, structured actions lead to transformation. The GAME Plan provides:
- A clear, step-by-step roadmap to transition from financial distress to financial stability.
- A focus on practical, actionable steps that align with each individual’s unique situation.
- Support through group sessions and expert guidance, ensuring no one has to navigate the path alone.
Step 3: Means – Creating Wealth from Within
Traditional financial recovery approaches often focus on getting money back—through compensation claims, legal battles, or government support. While these avenues can be pursued, the GAME Plan focuses on a more immediate and empowering strategy:
- Unlocking human capital—identifying skills, experiences, and passions that can be monetised.
- Leveraging entrepreneurial opportunities—helping victims generate sustainable livelihoods instead of waiting for external restitution.
- Navigating out of cash flow valleys—by building income sources that are within your control.
And when it comes to protecting wealth? The GAME Plan insists on self-agency. We do not believe in delegating financial decisions to middlemen with conflicted interests. Instead, we teach victims how to safeguard their own money, using verified, transparent sources with no third-party commissions.
Step 4: Execution – Expert Allies, Not Industry Insiders
Rebuilding financial security doesn’t happen in isolation. Victims need trusted allies—professionals who are on their side with no vested interest in the financial industry. The GAME Plan offers:
- Expert guidance with no conflicts of interest.
- A community of people who have walked the same path and are committed to mutual support.
- Lower-cost access to professional insights through group masterclasses and recorded sessions, making expert knowledge affordable and accessible to all.
Most importantly?
We believe that those who have suffered at the hands of financial crime shouldn’t have to pay to recover. That’s why our first cohort beta test is completely free. And if we can find a way to make cost-of-recovery planning permanently free, we will.
The Future: Rebuilding Financial Resilience, Together
The financial system has failed too many for too long. But that doesn’t mean victims must remain trapped in a cycle of loss and helplessness. The GAME Plan is about taking back control—financially, emotionally, and psychologically. It’s about shifting the power dynamic away from the institutions that have exploited people’s trust and towards a future where individuals hold their own financial agency.
If you’ve been a victim of financial crime, know this: your future is still yours to shape. Let’s rebuild it together.
